These are the terms you agree to by using BetaClips. They are written to be read, not to be impossible to read.
The beta, and what that means
BetaClips is beta software. It can lose work, produce a bad clip, or be unavailable for a while. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. We are not able to promise uptime, and nothing here should be read as promising it.
Your account
One account per person. Keep control of the email address it uses, because anyone who can read that inbox can sign in. Tell us if you think somebody else has got in.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, and we can close one that is being used to abuse the service, to break the law, or to take content the account holder has no right to.
What you import
You are responsible for the video you put through BetaClips. By importing something you are telling us you have the right to, whether because you made it, you licensed it, or its terms allow it. That includes video pulled from a link: a link being public does not make the video yours to reproduce.
Do not use BetaClips for material that is illegal, that infringes somebody's rights, or that exists to harass a person. If we are told something on our servers infringes a copyright, we will remove it.
What you make
Your video is yours and your clips are yours. We claim no ownership of either and we do not use your content to train anything. We hold it only to do the job you asked for, on the terms in the Privacy Policy.
Coins
- Coins pay for processing video. They are a prepaid balance, not currency, and they have no cash value.
- What a coin buys is the length of the source video you analyse, not the number of clips you get out of it. Cutting, recutting and restyling a video you have already analysed is free.
- Coins do not expire while your account is open. Deleting your account forfeits any balance, and the app tells you the number before you confirm.
- Purchases are final except where the law where you live says otherwise, and except where we have plainly failed to deliver what you paid for. If something went wrong, write to us; we would rather fix it than argue about it.
- Prices can change. A change never applies to coins you have already bought.
What we do not promise
BetaClips is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, that a clip it picks will be a good clip, or that a transcript will be accurate. Transcription and clip selection are done by machines and machines are wrong sometimes; check anything you are going to publish.
To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change in a way that matters we will say so in the app. Continuing to use BetaClips after that means you accept the new version.
